Patch 0.2!


Archipelagates' first patch is complete!

Over the past month I have done my best to fix as many high priority bugs as possible, as well as build out some more of the content the game needs. There is still a strong need for late game challenges as well as more sexual content, so the next patches will focus on those primarily.

New Content

  • Vulvas and navels have been added
  • Skeletons got the visual improvement they deserve (Variants are still in progress)
  • NPCs can now remove tops as well as pants as they try to flirt
  • Sex in the wild islands lasts much longer
  • A few new patterns and clothing items have been added

Bug Fixes

  • A single corrupted save no longer cause all saves to disappear from the saves list
  • Fixed soft locks during dialog
  • Fixed hand and finger visual issues
  • Mausoleum skeletons no longer spawn WAY too powerful
  • Glove enchantments can now be added to gloves
  • Fixed sliding flirt animations
  • Taught skeletons how to miss their melee attacks less
  • Stopped skeletons from doing chores and forgetting to be skeletons
  • Fixed Elf heterochromia bug
  • Moved portal nexus labels up so they don't spawn underground
  • Fixed a character create color bug causing colors to appear wrong
  • Fixed coloring outside the lines mistakes on a couple of character create patterns

Thanks for the patience, and I am excited for what is to come in the next patch! I will be aiming to patch in one month again unless something game breaking needs an emergency fix.

Bug report: I still see a sliding flirt. But I must admit: my PC is too weak for this game and such big happens only with NPC being really far away.

Even for such an early stage the game is amazing and shows a lot of promise, I am beyond excited to see how much it will grow! For now I would strongly suggest adding more sound effects and ambiance music to the background it will make the game feel more alive instantly, and tooltips! There is a lack of informasion and clarity about how things work and what they are/do and that could frustate a handfull of people. Also a more personal request.....can you make the male animations more masculine? (pretty please?O_O) It seems like they share animations with females when it comes to agreeing to sex etc...

Nevertheless,  you are very talented and the game is awesome! Keep up the good work! ^_^ 

Agreed on practically all points. Quality of life stuff will likely be a bit though as main gameplay content is prioritized at this time.

i'm a bit curious about the ragdoll feature, will it have any use overall is it there because it's pretty funny?

and would we at some point fight more than skeletons, maybe some bosses or more dangerous creatures.

Yes, ragdoll is funny. Some games have that for the same reason, and no other reason.

Was thinking when I first seen it and tried it, that for this game, it could be taken a step further, and perhaps be used as another form of flirting, an extra submissive flirting, inviting an NPC near by to just come over and have their way with the player avatar as they wish.

Could be further built on, by having a set of things an NPC might do at random, partly based on the sex of both the NPC and player avatar. The more added, would help keep it form looking too repetitive.

Could be real fun to see also. Just a thought. ^.^

This is probably a difficult thing to do, but it would be cool to be able to carry NPCs for different sex positions or to take them to your house as "companions" when you find one you like.

inviting NPCs to town has been of interest to me too. It is not prioritized though so won't be in the next patch.

Inviting would be amazing, but it would be nice to physically carry them there too. In a romantic way.

Would be a fun way to build up the town by adding more NPCs in it, in various ways. Be them made to follow or be carried. ^.^

This might mean, in time, setting up more starting land for the town, to build on. No need to go over board. But a land mass almost as big or half as big as a wild environment, I feel should be plenty.

And what I mean by build up the town, is just having homes appear when needed on their own, or you can place homes manually.

All of that could become a bit of a side quest, to add a certain number of NPCs to the town, for some kind of bonus, like getting to have sex with Shale, and no other way in getting to do that.

Just a thought. ^.^

Doubt I'll be easy or even useful, but I thought if I could met my other character as an NPC. Kinda funny to shipper own chars. 


I used to make games (not successfully) and I think a lot about mechanics that I suggest. If it's a cosmetics stuff: it almost have no sense. If you can actually met your char, then you can rob which will make returning less fun (plus there's no gift system, at least yet)

Oh hey, what about some box in a middle of town that can transfer items between characters? Like if you have strong enough char and you want to abandon it but don't want to grind on another char you can drop your stuff and pick it up as next char

Yes! The Patreon test builds are just early builds of the patches that end up here. 

All Archipelagates updates will be always be available here at no additional cost as soon as they are tested and stable.

this game is one of the much better games i've seen in a long wile i really enjoy the way fighting works and how the game play seems to work my only real gripe about this game is how easily friendly or maybe neutral NPCs turn hostile to the player such as them seeing you kill a skeleton or even a group of skeletons and in response attack you even tho skeletons are hostile to the npcs as well.

Yea agreed, I'll try to adjust that.

Don't know if you did make that adjustment yet, or if it was a glitch, but I was killed by an NPC, after we had a fight with some skeletons, and all was down, before I was killed by the NPC.

She just came right for me, and cut me down last. In what seemed like some berserk blood-lust rage, ignited by the fight. O.O

after the update, making my own little gameplay/combat suggestions that Raliv will see but not prioritize ( ´・・)ノ(._.`) (lets hope for 0.4)

- character hip/mouth adjusting mid-sex so my poor dick stops breaking in their mouths/rears 

- option for spells to be in Spell books you find and not just enchantments. if I have 3 weapon slots but 1 weapon is better, what's the point of having 3 besides cosmetics?

-offhand/2-handed weapons (another use for the 3 weapon slots, you tellin me i have 2 hands and only 1 can swing?) (saw someone else mention SHIELDS too)

-fire damage overtime nerf (i beg, armor doesnt matter with fire at all, i notice no change between full armor and naked).

-guaranteed disenchanter/shop on maps. personally HATE keeping equipment with good enchants / stats forever while i gamble on finding a disenchanter.

-scaling spell damage (mage builds, like armor value on enchantments and damage numbers on spell books)

-abilities / skills? (im reaching) whirlwind melee attack, ice skating, explosion jumping, perfect dodging, critical hits, double jumping, whatever.

I know its game with 75% sexual, 25% adventure focus, but you can have a really fun game here with this baseplate release. I look forward to how you develop the combat aspects in the future, even if my suggestions don't make it. Thanks for your effort.

If you make an offer with the emote menu, NPCs can initiate sex. They can also make offers for you.

There are no plans for any non consensual content at this time.

really liking the visual changes made to the skeletons though i think the color coding might not be the best - im mildly colorblind and thus im having trouble discerning between ice/melee (im assuming they’re meant to be blue/purple?) skeletons since their silhouettes are not particularly distinct. ultimately not a serious issue in this case but something to consider in the future perhaps

Yea the color is temporary for differentiation while I improve the design differences. I'll try to keep colorblindness in mind better as I design them.

Only a month since the initial release, and we're already seeing some substantial changes. Fantastic work, we love to see active development. Thank you for your work!

The first thought that comes to mind is that the new positioning of the text on the gates, as well as their improved contrast- A big issue in the previous version was instantly fixed, no longer will I be unable to see where I'm going, whether it's the lighting situation or the fact the old platform got buried underground.

The new clothes, at least what I've seen thus far, the set I've seen, works well to fill a niche for a more tribal take of character and is lovely. The new, more varied colors, and their dispersement through gears is really good, and I especially like that some of the colors are a lot more rare than others!

It's good to see a new model for the skeletons- as silly as the clothed, workman skellies were, the new ones are much more distinct and honestly pretty wicked. The improvements to the player character and uh, living characters', shall we say, "animation speeds" is really nice, though hopefully we may one day see a "press space to move to the next phase of the animation" sort of function.

I'm glad to see the fingers are fixed, though I do notice that the characters' legs are either improperly rigged, or you were going for the rigging to be in such a way that the character's legs can bend backwards? Which, while it makes for some interesting ragdolls, admittedly it is pretty unnatural.

Either way, congrats on the update, and for real, you're doing amazing with dev.

Adding the leg issues to my bug list. Still unsure what I want to do exactly with sex animation duration, but I am aware it needs some attention.

This latest build was my first time playing the game, and I was very impressed! I ended up actually liking the gameplay loop, as bare bones as it is right now, without the NSFW themes! Entering randomly generated levels to fight goobers, collect loot, maybe even collect a helpful party member (and perhaps someday be able to keep a particular generated party member around long-term!), then go back to buy new gizmos and whatnot. The combat was serviceable and I enjoyed it a bunch! Of course there's still more to be desired in the NSFW side of the game, but I assume that stuff takes lots of time, and more of it will come bit by bit!

I'm gonna post make a lil' list of things that I think would be neat to be added or tweaked, and I'm saying this upfront so it doesn't seem like I'm griping. I've really enjoyed what I've played so far, and hope to be able to play even more of it soon!

- Defeat sex would be cool! If it's not your jam, that's totally understandable. If it's not SO not-your-jam you wouldn't wanna add it, maybe down the line it could be a setting the player would have to enable manually? (Keeping it turned off by default for more player comfort.)
- Maybe a hostile NPC could be pacified with a gesture or emote? If the hostile NPC is into it, they no longer wanna smack you! If they're not impressed, they just SMACK you immediately, lmao.
- As commented on above, maybe ways to keep following NPCs around? Be able to bring them back home, and dismiss them at will? Have a group/party??? Equip them with found items?!?! Sounds cool.
-I'm sure plenty of folks have mentioned this already, but yeah -- sex sound fx would be hot!
-Maybe a way to make "Offer Pussy" have intercourse poses instead of just oral poses?
-Shields! Idk if this is already in the game or not, but if it isn't, that'd be cool!

Those are all I could think of off the top of my head. I wouldn't want to just dump a billion ADDITION IDEAS that could or could not already be in development/too obvious on a post I'm largely writing as a review. Again, I love what's been made currently, and can't wait for more! Keep up the great work! <3

And here I thought that was intentional. In all seriousness, nice job on the new skelemens. I'm trying to think of more suggestions, other than basic stuff that's probably gonna happen. Stuff like: Getting the house operating, new hair, new clothes, new NPCs, cum effects, new spells, etc. My only real gripe got fixed with the gate numbers above the arch now. Major thanks for that.

....... Oh, a return to menu button might be nice.

found a softlock! upon going to town and asking to have sex with Sophia, if i talk to her during her walk to her house, and ask for a more recieving role, the cutscene camera is shifted to the left, and she is sitting on air, with me nowhere in sight, and no buttons to press to continue/leave the scene.
